Initial consultations are very limited exchanges of information that cannot explore all of the details of your case or possible defenses, but they can give you an idea of the delimna you are facing and how Attorney Chirafisi might be able to help.

To help you gather the critical information that will make the best use of your initial consultation time, please refer to the list below of items that may be involved in your case. It would be most beneficial if you could gather the information before calling the office because Attorney Chirafisi or Attorney Verhoff will take your call if he is available; otherwise, his assistant will schedule a time for you to speak with him or page him if it is an emergency.

1. Name, date of birth, address, and telephone numbers where you can be reached.
2. Date of arrest or the date that the alleged incident occured.
3. Charges, if you have been charged, or allegations, if you have not yet been charged.
4. The name of the agency that arrested you (county and branch, such as Madison police).
5. The amount of bond paid or set, if you have attended an arraignment hearing.
6. Reported test results, such as BAC - blood alcohol level, if you were arrested for an OWI.
7. Test administered before the arrest, such as "walking and turning" for an OWI.
8. Your statements to the police.
9. Courts dates, if known, and any fines imposed to date.
10. The status of your license, such as your driver's license is valid or your CDL is suspended, if the arrest was for an OWI.
11. Note - if you have already retained an attorney, another attorney cannot represent you unless the first attorney withdraws.
