State and Federal Criminal Charges

Drug offenses can be charged under either or both Federal law or Wisconsin state law. If charged under Wisconsin law, the case will be heard in a Wisconsin circuit court, if it goes to trial; otherwise under federal law, the case will be heard in a U. S. federal court. Drug cases in violation of both state and federal law can be charged and tried in either or both state and federal courts.
